"But now, since I no longer have any room for work in these regions..."
Romans 15:23 ESV
We as Christians have a mandate given to us by God. We are to go into the world and share the gospel with every person we come into contact with. That mission is daunting for anyone to attempt, but Jesus gave us a formula for how to do it. He told His disciples in Acts 1:8 that once the Holy Spirit came to them they were to go into the world starting in Jerusalem, or their home region. The same is true for us. We are empowered by the Holy Spirit to share the gospel and we are to start with the region where we live.
Paul in Romans 15:23 states his desire to go to Rome and visit the church and he says the he has no more room for work in the region where he was. There was no place left that had not heard the gospel where he was. That should be our goal when we see the place we live. NO PLACE LEFT that has not heard the gospel. NO PLACE LEFT that has not been told about Jesus. NO PLACE LEFT.
Do we want to be a church that reaches the community? Do we want to see people saved? Most importantly, do we want to be a church that obeys and pleases Jesus? Go ye therefore into your community and make disciples so there will be no place left that has not heard the good news.
